Position Summary Information Basic Function This position provides first-line technical support for events at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center. The Ernst Center serves non-profit and for-profit community groups by providing event space, modern equipment and professional technical support. Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical support for rental groups in the Cultural Center, with activities centered in both the theater and non-theater areas of the building (gymnasium, meeting rooms, etc.). Accountable for building security, setting up for events, maintaining a safe and professional working environment. Coordinates with on-site custodial staff to make sure all areas are clean during events. Reports to the Operations Manager and regularly works collaboratively with other technicians. Minimum Qualifications Prior experience in an event or arts management-related field. High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service-related experience. Must be willing to work days, nights and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience with pro or DJ audio systems, wireless microphones, mixers and media players. Experience with theatrical lighting and sound systems, including digital and analog sound consoles and a digital lighting console. Bilingual Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to set up and operate a computer, projector, and a professional sound system with wireless microphones and digital playback devices (CD players, computers, phones, etc.). Knowledge of basic computer software programs and web apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, VLC Media Player and mail clients like Outlook and other internet file storage and media streaming services. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work a varied schedule, including days, nights and weekends. Clear communication, both verbal and in writing, is imperative.
