Be a Senior Support Engineer on one of the most high profile and significant cybersecurity systems in the US ECS seeks a Senior Support Engineer to support the operations and maintenance of the applications & systems for the Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics Mitigation (CDM) project, which is being used by every Federal agency. This is an important project for our company and will be a resume builder for you. In this role you will leverage a mix of infrastructure and application expertise to support various incidents and service requests coming from highly technical teams. US Citizens Only - This is a mandatory requirement of our contract. Candidate must be able to obtain TS/SCI Clearance and DHS Suitability. Position Responsibilities : Working alongside a dynamic operations team that includes Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps Engineers, development teams and technical leadership, the Senior Support Engineer will support the existing windows-based COTS application and ultimately will need to be comfortable with transitioning to a completely new Linux platform environment leveraging Elasticsearch. The successful candidate will bring experience managing technical issues from instantiation to closure with little technical support. The team will routinely interact with government stakeholders to communicate status, issues and progress. You'll be working onsite with our talented team in Fairfax, VA or at the customer site in Ballston, VA, supporting a leading-edge enterprise system that will protect Federal IT systems across the US It's an exciting project that will help many people. You must be able to achieve an active TS/SCI and be able to pass a government background check to achieve DHS Suitability. The successful candidate will have the following experience and required skills : Experience providing IT customer support, performing application administration, taking ownership of tasks to resolution, and demonstrated ability to stretch beyond the bounds of the role to provide deeper system support Knows to to follow established SOPs Assist in creating new SOPs Have an eye toward continue process improvement Bachelor's Degree (IT or relevant STEM degree) 3+ years administering and troubleshooting 'N' tier web applications to include database servers, services servers, and web servers in Windows and Linux environments 3+ years of delivering technical support to at least one business critical application Experience with supporting incident resolution sometimes dealing with critical situations Knowledge of Data Management on platforms such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch including the ability to identify issues in queries or searches Understanding of data pipelines to include ETL and streaming data such as log data or tool/sensor data to indexes Demonstrated ability to apply an understanding of systems administration and operations to proactively identify and remediate day-to-day technical and operational challenges Experience supporting web-based systems performance analysis and optimization Experience querying data to include aggregations, calculations, and producing metrics from data Understanding current cyber exploits, attack methodology, and detection techniques using a wide variety of security products including COTS and open source Experience with ALM tools, esp JIRA Proven ability to interact with customer stakeholders, including senior leadership It's a plus if you have : Experience with CI/CD environments Experience working in an Agile development team Experience with code repositories, esp Git/GitHub Cloud workload experience (Amazon Web Services, Azure) Experience working with RSA Archer GRC Experience working as a Cyber Security professional DHS Suitability Location Requirements: Full-time onsite in Fairfax, VA Benefits : Great work environment, full health insurance, 15 days PTO, Federal holidays, tax-deferred retirement savings plan with company match program and opportunities for advancement.
