JOB SUMMARY: Provides support to the Human Resources department. Provides project based support to various areas of human resources including record retention, compliance, and HRIS administration. Deals with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload, recommends changes in office practices or procedures. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Professionalism Greets employees and visitors as they enter the Human Resources department Planning and Organizing May be asked to schedule department meetings On boards new employees - sends offer letters, coordinates drug screens and background checks, coordinates orientation activities, creates HR files Orders supplies for department Organizes and runs first day and monthly orientation for new hires Coordinates onsite employee events when needed Plans and prioritizes activities to ensure compliance with departmental standards Checking, Examining, Recording Maintain departmental files - employee file and benefits files Ensures employee licenses are kept up to date in employee files and HRIS tracking Workplace Computers and Equipment Enters all employee data into HRIS including new hires, separations, and job changes Teamwork May be asked to support other HR related projects Communication Appropriately answers or directs questions from internal and external customers Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have strong technical skills Must have strong organization and prioritization skills Be thorough and able to collaborate with HR staff and employees in a professional manner. Excellent communication skills are required. General knowledge of human resources regulatory requirements Must have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, our internal customers and the general public EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Preferred: Bachelors Degree Preferred: Previous Human Resources experience Required: Two years of administrative experience Strong computer skills required HRIS experience preferred
