Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP's Washington, DC office is actively seeking a paralegal to support five government contracts attorneys. Duties will include: Coordinating group projects among attorneys. Acting as liaison to marketing, business development and administrative staff. Researching companies that sell products and services to the US government, including use of government contracts award databases. Preparation of word processing work including, but not limited to, briefs and pleadings. Proofreading of all work, including reading documents for content and context. Maintaining case files and pleadings indexes. Maintaining calendar of critical case deadlines. Scheduling meetings and conference rooms. Coordinating meals/refreshments for meetings. Assisting attorneys with client billing process. Making travel arrangements, including transportation, automobile rentals and hotel reservations, and associated expense report submissions. Filing correspondence and legal documents according to the office filing system, including scanning to SharePoint sites; coordinating with Records Department. Providing backup telephone coverage at the front desk as needed. Performing other duties required based upon the practice of attorneys, such as, but not limited to, administrative work, practice development initiatives, and committee projects and responsibilities. Assisting with special projects as needed. Job Requirements: College degree is required. Prior law firm experience is not required. Interest in government contracts. Strong technical skills - proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and data rooms. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proactive and able to lead projects to conclusion Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to demonstrate the highest level of client service and response. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Understands deadlines and possesses a sense of urgency. Independent worker, ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to communicate in a proficient, tactful, and confident manner with external clients and coworkers.
