This is an exciting opportunity to help direct the evolution, scale and maturity of Freddie Mac's Multifamily emerging digital release, business integration, and deployment practices. The Multifamily Digital Release Program Director will work collaboratively with Product, IT and Modern Delivery teams to deploy and operate our systems; as well as help automate and streamline our operations. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success building modern, clear, and repeatable processes that drive predictability and frequency. In addition, expectations include support for implementing, improving, and managing the release process for system changes through development, test, and production environments. The role will also support the maintenance of a release calendar that will deliver feature enhancements and new innovations that drive value, speed, and quality for our network of lenders, investors, and seller/servicers.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Portfolio Management and Oversight

  • Responsible for product release strategy, launch planning, and execution across multiple Agile teams to ensure release milestones are met with speed, accuracy and quality in mind
  • Work closely across the enterprise to ensure integration and sequencing is correctly considered across legacy systems and tightly coupled Data/API platform
  • Ensure accurate deliverables are submitted prior to deadlines to support enterprise Operational Readiness (ORAD) teams and existing compliance checklists
  • Conduct post-release support ensuring lessons learned and metrics are gathered and communicated; Partner with technology, operations, modern delivery, and other disciplines to have a holistic approach to continuous improvement
  • Identify risks and dependencies that effect release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Actively support transition from QA to CTE. Ensure internal stakeholder approval; Be the decision maker and provide regular executive reports during and in advance of Go/No-Go ceremonies

Communications and Change Management
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss release scope or risks/issues and recommend solutions
  • Ensure adherence of performance and security SLAs while meeting all regulatory and internal compliance controls to minimize company risk
  • Set and manage release support expectations ensuring all applicable groups are engaged in the release planning and execution, ensuring issues are identified and resolved, working with IT Engineering to identify and resolve incidents
  • Implement best practice processes (milestone tracking, risk assessment, etc.) for releasing products on time working with local release management representative across locations
  • Determine and recommend how new business processes inform and re-engineer information technologies
  • Identify and assist quantifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and automate processes, as well as ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes

People Management
  • Liaison with Agile teams and supporting teams to identify any implementation gaps prior to releases and assist in resolution of those gaps
  • Manage stakeholders with an ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Autonomously build strong relationships across a broad group of stakeholders


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Typically has 12+ years related experience and 4+ years management experience
  • Strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of current technologies with the ability to develop and deliver projects using leading edge technologies
  • In-depth understanding of agile development and continuous deployment practices; Understanding of scaled agile, (SAFe) release, increments
  • Experience with release management and bug tracking tools like Atlassian Jira
  • Experience with source control tools like Jenkins/GIT
  • Experience with automation tools like Selenium
  • Strong organization and time management skills: Operates independently with minimal guidance
  • Experience in deploying to AWS, preferred
  • High level of analytical ability to measure the velocity, capacity, and value of teams' contributions.
  • Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output in a team environment
  • Availability for occasional work beyond core business hours or weekends as needed
  • Experience in the primary or secondary mortgage market, highly desirable
