Responsibilities

  • Serves as Senior Public Affairs Specialist and administers the Cloud Computing Program Office (CCPO) Media relations program in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) policy for public affairs.
  • Advises Cloud Computing Program Office leadership, senior staff, military and civilian employees on matters pertaining to public information.
  • Promulgates policy and procedures for implementing DoD directives governing public affairs activities.
  • Anticipates the needs of and responds to the requests for information from the news media and from specialized and general public on CCPO programs and initiatives.
  • Assists in the development, management and implementation of a strategic plan that promotes name recognition and enhances CCPO image as a leader in the provision of enterprise cloud services.
  • Ensures free flow of news and information to media, internal audiences and the general public for CCPO, which is a highly visible program that is regularly in the news and receives attention from Office of the Secretary of Defense PAO.

Qualifications

For the GG-14 position, you must have applicable experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience may have been acquired in any Federal, Military, or Private sector but clearly demonstrates past experience to successfully perform the duties of this position.

Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by planning, directing and overseeing the execution of a national campaign to publicize complex information concerning programs, research on program-related areas, responsibilities and activities.

Education

There is no subsititution of education at the GG-14 grade level.

  • This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to the competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • A three year probationary period may be required.
