LMI is seeking Systems Engineers / Project Engineers to support a federal program management office (PMO) charged with planning, acquiring, and managing the deployment and operation of technology and capabilities to keep our borders safe. We are seeking energetic self-starters who are focused on practical and efficient solutions delivered by an interdisciplinary, collaborative team. These individuals will provide full-time support to the client's program management office, located in Northern Virginia. Some travel may be required. Responsibilities These individuals will work with other technical and engineering subject matter experts to support the client's program management office (PMO), which is responsible for developing programs of records (POR) and the acquisition and deployment of technologies and systems to protect the nation's borders. From program planning and market research to trade studies, requirements definition, engineering analysis, decision support, and program execution assistance, these individuals will apply sound systems engineering principles and ensure that DHS/CBP policies and processes are followed, and the client's objectives are met. Specific responsibilities may include: Supporting the Government lead systems engineers and/or program/project managers Participating or leading engineering project teams Performing market research, trade studies, other technical investigations, and requirements analysis / definition Supporting or leading the development of engineering plans including: Systems Engineering Plans (SEP) Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) Tailoring Plans Test plans Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) Assessing contractor submittals including RFI responses, proposals, white papers, technology demonstration plans, and contract deliverables Supporting or leading the planning, execution, data collection, evaluation, and assessment of system acceptance tests, technical demonstrations, and other technology and/or systems evaluation efforts Qualifications SENIOR LEVEL: 10+ years of relevant experience and a MS degree in systems engineering or a related discipline. 14 years relevant experience plus a STEM BS degree or 18 total years' relevant experience can be equivalent. MID LEVEL: 3-10 years' experience and a BS or MS degree in systems engineering or a related discipline Experience in providing systems engineering support to large, complex programs Familiar with DHS or DoD Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (ALF) Familiar with Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) and its processes and practices Experience in developing engineering and project plans Knowledge of a broad spectrum of technical fields and engineering disciplines Strong problem solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership skills Self-motivated, proactive, independent performer who can perform well in a collaborative, team environment All position require eligibility to acquire CBP BI, for which you must be a US Citizen. Highly Preferred: Active US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) BI.
