Engineer, Facilities Support United States - Manassas, VA Your JobIn this role you will provide Facilities Engineering support through the planning, coordination, design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation on our Manassas-based facility infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing station-wide technical support for all teleport operation, installation, and maintenance processes at the Manassas facilities. Also, as required, you will be asked to provide Station support through the planning, design, implementation, and configuration of Manassas Ground Ops systems and infrastructure. Your Responsibilities * Plan, coordinate, and budget activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems. Participates in the conceptual development of projects from organization, scheduling, and implementation * Coordinate the activities of third-party mechanics, installers, and repairers * Perform or coordinate third-party work to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Activities may involve pipe fitting, insulation, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs * Install or repair cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems * Coordinate the installation or repair activities of third-party heating, central air conditioning, or refrigeration system vendors * Apply principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of engineering staff * Promote worksite safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, and industrial health and safety laws * Prepare wiring diagrams and layout drawings used for installation and repair of electrical equipment * Provide 24/7 on-call support to the Network Operations Center on rotational basis * Provide local program management oversight * Perform maintenance of all station RF, IF and baseband equipment as assigned * Operate, maintain, install, test, and configure all station RF, IF and baseband equipment * Maintain accurate station block and level drawings * Provide operational support to PMOCL2 and NOC in trouble resolution as required * Respond to station alarms being monitored by M&C System What's in it for you? Your Competencies * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written) * Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse organization * Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English * Effective communication and presentation skills in working with both technical and nontechnical support staff * Demonstrated performance as a reliable team player * Very strong project management skills * Highly focused attention to detail * Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines Your Profile * US Citizen or Green Card holder * Associate degree, Technician Degree, Trade School, or equivalent combination of experience/education * Current Electrician's license (VA certification preferred) * Minimum 3 years facilities civil, mechanical, and electrical technical experience * 3-5 years facilities implementation and coordination oversight experience * At least 3 years satellite communication technical experience * 3 years minimum teleport /earth station experience
