LMI is seeking a skilled Cloud Architect, to support the strategy and consulting capabilities of our Infrastructure Services group. This position is a subject matter expert (SME) with Cloud strategy and consulting experience, capable of visualizing what it means to go from legacy computing environments to utilizing some of the best, world-class Cloud computing offerings available. The ideal candidate will have the capability of building a Cloud capability maturity model to help LMI and its customers realize roadmaps and objectives for the journey to Cloud computing (on-premise, off-premise, hybrid, or heterogeneous environments). The place of performance for this work will be at the LMI Headquarters office in Tyson's Corner, VA. Responsibilities Responsible for supporting the creation of a well-formed cloud strategy, or set of strategies, for LMI and for our customers, to include its implementation.Responsible for developing a Cloud capability maturity model that would lead to deployment plans for Cloud migration.Responsible for evaluating and recommending best-of-breed Cloud architectures for our Government clients, to include providing expertise architecting, designing, engineering and migrating legacy infrastructure and applications to the Cloud; using industry best practice Agile and containerization methodologies or strategies. Also, providing expertise with Cloud-to-Cloud migrations.Responsible for producing Cloud technical solutions and designs for our Government clients, to include repeatable blueprint architectures, in accordance with LMI's market strategy or as agreed to by our customers.Responsible for the customer's overall Cloud experience, to include being the highest point of escalation SME for resolving reported performance or delivery issues. Must be able to manage multiple and competing customer priorities with little supervision.Responsible for supporting capture efforts for new Cloud opportunities, or the expansion of existing Cloud initiatives for our customers, to include authoring sections of our proposal responses and the production of client facing collateral representing LMI's Cloud solutions.Responsible for ensuring that all Cloud solutions comply with industry and Government mandated security protocols and best-practices; working closely with our Cyber and Security lines of services.Responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.Responsible for escalating issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the appropriate levels for clarification and resolution.Responsible for design and engineering of Cloud Based Infrastructure solutions based on AWS or Azure Cloud Technologies and offerings for Government.Responsible for communication with the client and LMI leadership.Responsible for keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies.Responsible for design, development, and implementation of Cloud strategies aligned with industry best-practice specifications, methodologies and the practical application of ITIL and DevSecOps practices.Responsible for providing some consulting support to our business development or program leadership teams to validate the solution requirements and components; arrive at and agree to resource estimations.Responsible for client interactions as required. Qualifications Required SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.4+ years modeling Cloud migration capabilities and building roadmaps to the AWS or AWS Government Cloud, to include Cloud-to-Cloud and hybrid Cloud computing.4+ years of experience designing, executing and supporting IT Cloud solutions within AWS or AWS Government Cloud.Certified AWS Solutions Architect is desirable (Microsoft Azure Certified Solutions Architect a plus).Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated Cloud concepts to LMI leadership and customers.Must be able to use MS Project, MS Office, Visio, and other products to produce content and communicate with LMI leadership and clients. Ability to attain a Government clearance up to and including Top Secret, for which you must be a US Citizen.Desired SkillsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.Multiple Cloud platforms (Commercial and Government) - AWS, Azure, Google, IBMContainer technologies - Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, etc.ITSM tools - ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.SaaS tools - CrowdStrike, Cloudbolt, Cloudcheckr, CloudCenter, Accelerite Rovius CP, etc.Biometric technologies (deployable in the Cloud)Virtualization technologies and migrations - VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.Database platforms - Oracle, MS SQLStorage technologies - SAN and NASSecurity standards and practices
