PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: SRC is currently seeking multiple Data Scientists, at various levels, to support our customer at the Naval Air Systems Command located at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. The Data Scientist will support the analysis of F-35 data, simulation data, and the statistical comparison of the two data sets. * Adept at manipulating data in a tactical or operational context to gain insight into installed sensor and system performance. * Must have strong experience using a variety of data analysis methods and data munging tools * Must have a proven ability to support technical decisions with data. * Being comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams across government and contractor organizations * Working with data analysis team members across the enterprise to accomplish the verification and validation of the Joint Simulation Environment * Write tools to assist in mining data from flight tests and simulation runs * Write tools to assist in comparative analysis of flight tests and simulation runs * Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques * Implement performance analysis and visualization of flight test and simulation data sets * Somr travel required Scientific Research Corporation offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages excellence. [*MON *CB] MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: * Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on producing data to drive decisions * Experience using statistical computer languages such as R, MATLAB, or Python (Scikit Learn, Pandas, Dask) to manipulate data and draw insights from medium and large data sets * Proficiency working with and creating data architectures * Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc. and experience with applications * Experience with aircraft and/or weapons systems testing or operations * Strong technical writing and oral communication skills for coordinating across teams * Must be independently motivated, with a strong desire to learn * Must have DoD/military systems experience * An active DoD SECRET clearance is required at time of hire DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: * Expert skills in ETL tools, SQL queries, crosstab reports, and predictive modeling * Experience with scaling data products across distributable computing environments, including Hadoop, MapReduce, or MongoDB * Proficiency in building interactive dashboards that showcase relevant metrics * Ability to respond quickly to questions/challenges to dashboard results * Experienced grasp of version control using Git or similar tools (eg, Mercurial, Subversion) * May brief dashboard to stakeholders and/or train new users * A TOP SECRET clearance is highly desired THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DoD TOP SECRET CLEARANCE Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
