Job Description: This position is for a technical writer to produce technical content. The position requires the incumbent to work as a team member with data architects, software engineers and other development team members to prepare technical documentation for software systems. The incumbent will write technical documentation, such as, functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, and other customer deliverables and documents. Other activities include collecting & organizing information for the preparation of design documents, user manuals, installation guides, and requirement documents. The incumbent must be able to write technical content with ability to create detailed wireframes or mockups and be able to organize and prepare information and data for use in a wide variety of technical publications requiring expert knowledge of software development technologies and methodologies. Although this is not an editor position, the incumbent must possess good editorial standards and be able to review and correct technical literature prepared by other staff members for content, coverage, and clarity. Exceptional writing & verbal skills with the ability to work independently or as a member of various development teams is required. The selected candidates will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-output environment, be detailed and process oriented in their work; with the ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint is expected. Knowledge of Confluence. All candidates should be prepared to provide writing samples. Day-to-day: Based on production schedules for periodic releases, the writer will work closely with various engineers and developers to prepare formal documentation. All documents are deliverables to the customer and must adhere to established standards. Requirements Requirements: * 5-8 years of experience in technical writing pertaining to software development and a Bachelor's degree. * Experience with Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, and 2016. * Ability to pay strict attention to detail. * Create user documentation and instruction material in print, electronic, and visual formats for different audiences - from application developers to non-technical end users * Create technical information- white papers, reference documentation, implementation plans, how-to documents, annotated visual diagrams and graphics, lessons learned * Supports the content development on internal content sites using Confluence and SharePoint. Preferred experience and skills: Knowledge of software development and methodologies.
