Territory: Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC area NB Handy Company currently has an exciting opportunity for an Roofing Account Manager (outside sales). We are looking for dynamic, self-starters to service established accounts and expand sales further. Responsibilities include providing excellent service to established accounts, sourcing and selling new accounts, and ensuring superior customer service. This is a business-to-business sales position, and your customers will mainly be installers and contractors, although depending upon your assigned territory you may also call on and provide bid packages to organizations such as military institutions, government agencies, hospitals, schools and local governments. As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will make your sales appointments based on a combination of self-generated leads and existing customer accounts and you will be paid on a base-plus-commission basis. Position Summary: Responsible for developing, monitoring, and increasing sales in the Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC territory for Roofing supplies and equipment to include but not limited to developing sales plans to target key customers and prioritize Roofing and equipment sales activities; qualifying new and existing opportunities to determine revenue potential; positioning products and services as a strategic advantage to customers and communicates value proposition and business drivers; recommending products to customers based on needs; negotiating with customers to grow business while maintaining margin targets; monitoring market conditions, product innovations and competitor products, prices and sales; and managing customer concerns fairly, promptly and effectively. Requirements: College degree preferred and 2-4 years of outside sales experience. Knowledge of Roofing industry, supplies, equipment, and accessories is a strong plus. Ability to develop an Roofing customer base, prospect new accounts, retain existing accounts, and increase opportunities with existing customers. Strong influential skills/level of charisma for building long-term relationships with customers. Must be a self-starter with high energy. Ability to schedule time effectively. Excellent communication skills, customer service focus, excellent negotiation skills. Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet, familiarity with AS400 database a strong plus. Requires travel throughout an assigned territory.
