Be a Lead System Engineer on one of the most high profile and significant cybersecurity systems in the US Tellenger, Inc., seeks an experienced Technical Lead (SA) to support the operations and maintenance for the network and system environment of the Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics Mitigation (CDM) project, which is being used by every Federal agency. This is an important project for our company and will be a resume builder for you. In this role you will leverage a mix of infrastructure, application expertise, and technical leadership experience to guide the operations team. US Citizen Only - This is a mandatory requirement of our contract . Candidate must be able to obtain TS/SCI Clearance and DHS Suitability . Position Responsibilities : The Lead System Engineer will oversee the Engineer team. They will be an on the ground leader focusing on continual service improvement. The role will be working alongside a dynamic operations team that includes Senior Support Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Developers, and DevOps Engineers. The Lead System Engineer shall work closely with team members to perform system administration to build, document, operate, maintain, and sustain the system. The Lead System Engineer will support the existing windows-based COTS application and ultimately will need to be comfortable with leading the transition to a completely new Linux platform environment leveraging Elasticsearch. The team will routinely interact with government stakeholders to communicate status, issues and progress. You'll be providing technical leadership for a talented team in Fairfax, VA developing a leading-edge enterprise system that will protect Federal IT systems across the US It's an exciting project that will help many people. You will work onsite at the project team's location in Fairfax, VA, and must have an active TS/SCI and be able to pass a government background check to achieve DHS Suitability. The successful candidates will have the following skillsets: Prior experience in designing/architecting enterprise scale systems incorporating a variety of components (COTS, Open Source) and supporting integration as it pertains to processing raw, user generated content into information that is suitable for infusion into decision making processes. Thrives on implementation of new technologies and values leading a scalable operation with a metrics-driven approach. Exhibits proactive engagement, constantly trying to identify ways to make the process more effective and efficient. Bachelor's Degree (IT or relevant STEM degree) 5+ years of experience and designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise level systems 5+ years of experience leading and coordinating team activities for IT Operations 3+ years of experience providing service delivery guidance to Tier 1 to Tier 3 IT Technicians 3+ years of experience working in a Federal Government IT environment Demonstrated ability to apply an understanding of systems administration and operations to proactively identify and remediate day-to-day technical and operational challenges and issues Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems Experience with data administration and "data as a service" model Experience supporting web-based systems performance analysis, recommending modifications, and executing system changes in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance Track record of excellent technical writing and presentation skills to manage and improve processes that result in consistently outstanding customer service and support Understanding current cyber exploits, attack methodology, and detection techniques using a wide variety of security products including COTS and open source Cloud workload experience (Amazon Web Services, Azure) Experience leading and working in an Agile development team Experience with code repositories, esp Git/GitHub Experience with ITSM and ALM tools A player-coach mind-set with an in-the-trenches style and a strong willingness to roll up the sleeves to dive into technical challenges as needed Strategic and forward thinking, proven ability to plan ahead It's a plus if you have: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field Experience with CI/CD environments Experience working with RSA Archer GRC Experience utilizing big data and cloud tools and technologies Experience working with Cloud Technologies (Azure, GCP, AWS) Experience working as a Cyber Security professional DHS Suitability Certificates such as RedHat, RCSA/RCSE, MCSE, LPI Location Requirements : Willing work full-time onsite in Fairfax, VA Benefits: Great work environment, full health insurance, 15 days PTO, Federal holidays, tax-deferred retirement savings plan with company match program and opportunities for advancement.
