Rise seeks an experienced Fund Development Officer to manage and scale its fundraising efforts as it grows and expands its operations. The Fund Development Officer will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute a fundraising plan and will be responsible for all fundraising activities undertaken by the organization. The Officer will be a core member of the Rise Leadership Team with volunteer management responsibilities. This position is located in Washington, DC., with the opportunity for occasional travel. Location outside of Washington, DC will be considered for exceptional candidates. Duties and Responsibilities Manage Rise's fundraising efforts, including assisting in regular crowdfunding appeals, major gift solicitation, writing grants, planned giving, strategic planning, setting and executing fundraising plans, and planning events. Identify and maintain donor relationships, including identifying potential donors through research and evaluation, keeping detailed records of donors and contact history, ensuring donor information is accurate. Oversee volunteer members of Rise's Fund Development team Prepare all necessary financial and donor reports, including the Rise annual report. Such other duties as may from time to time be assigned in the CEO's discretion. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management or related field. At least 3-5 years of related experience in direct fundraising, donor engagement and management, grant writing, and/or program development and management, especially for a foundation or non-profit. Attention to detail Competency in Microsoft Office, G Suite, Office Suite, EveryAction or other CSM platform, Cision, and other relevant platforms. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, be adaptable, and learn on the fly. Experience participating in or working at a leading tech accelerator. Familiarity with the legislative process and the current state of American political leadership. Experience working in a non-profit environment and with volunteers, especially in a management capacity, are preferred.
