AppGuard Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, experienced hands-on VP of Engineering to oversee the expansion of the AppGuard product suite. VP of Engineering will provide technical leadership, vision, direction, and mentoring for the software engineering teams and confirm working closely with the CTO.The AppGuard product suite includes both an Enterprise centrally managed system as well as a stand-alone version. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in Software Design and Windows Software development using either C++ or C#. As the AppGuard VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that the engineering department delivers AppGuardA cents € (TM) s world-class malware protection product on time. This includes strategic planning, product design, quality assurance, problem resolution, managing team of engineers. An ideal candidate is a strong software engineer, experienced in all stages of the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.ResponsibilitiesWork with the executive team to build and continuously refine the AppGuard product roadmap.Works together with Project Stake Holders, Engineering Principals and QA to establish project scope and development schedule.Lead the engineering departmentA cents € (TM) s efforts to meet aggressive timelines by managing multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments and by quickly identifying and managing delivery blockers, resolving problems to meet deadlines.Perform project budget planning, scoping, and resource management.Lead architecture discussions, drive technical discussions amongst the team and leaders.Lead company-wide prioritization of improvements to code quality, systems, and engineering processes. Inspire others to continuously improve and raise their standards at all levels of the company.Screen technical resources, participate in hiring decisions.Enforce security and coding best practices and standards, perform code reviews with the team.Produce and review product documentation including requirements documentation and training materials.RequirementsDemonstrated success working with local & remote team members.A track record of building high-performing teams, retaining the best engineering talent.Proven experience in software development methodologies and project planning and management.Previous experience successfully leading teams building and releasing software products on schedule.Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and ability to lead multiple projects in an agile team environment.Proven track record of recruiting, growing, and coaching engineering teams at a size of 30+ engineersExperience managing a team of engineers and when needed ability to develop code or critique code as a software engineer.QualificationsBachelorA cents € (TM) s/MasterA cents € (TM) s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent8+ years of experience in leading user-centric software development teams.Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and ability to lead multiple projects in an agile team environment.Experience with Jira, Git and Bitbucket.Desired: Knowledge of IT security concepts, crypto algorithm, security best practices.10+ years of experience in commercial software development.Experience with coaching/mentoring engineering teams, with a track record in handling conflict resolution within technical teams.5+ years experience in one of core technologies (C++, C#).Must be authorized to work in the US All offers of employment and contract positions at AppGuard Inc are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
