Your Work Falls into the Following Three Primary Categories

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Manage and mature the end-to-end Supplier Risk Management process, including governance, methodology, process management, quality control, and execution of risk assessment activities, and reporting
  • Partner with colleagues, business partners, suppliers, and consulting support to create best-in-class processes in Supplier Risk & Performance Management within the overall procurement life-cycle
  • Leverage benchmarks, data, market intelligence, and technology to identify improvement opportunities
  • Directly support the leadership team in setting strategic direction, and identifying, prioritizing and pursuing short and long-term opportunities across the enterprise
  • Assess the level of risk in contracts and the vendors engaged in delivering the goods or services; Identify those engagements that create the most potential risk to the corporation and make recommendations to mitigate that risk
  • Manages a team of supplier risk management professionals with responsibilities to set performance objectives, operational plans, and career development
  • Represent Supplier Risk Management organization within the three lines of defense structure and Freddie Mac's principal regulator

Team Management and Leadership
  • Manage and develop team of Risk Management professionals
  • Ensure team is operating in the most effective way possible and have the appropriate level of skills and capabilities to be successful
  • Understand what's unique about each team member and know how to capitalize on their strengths and find ways to upskill where gaps exist

Operations and Technology
  • Develop Risk Operating Model and leverage / align work to appropriate resources across the team to ensure work is completed in the most efficient and impactful way
  • Identify / roll-out the company's Risk Management applications to enhance the risk management process


  • Bachelor or master's degree, preferably in supply chain management, contracting, procurement, business administration, economics, finance, statistics or math
  • 10+ years of related work experience and 2+ years management experience with 5 or more years professional experience in procurement, finance, supply chain management, category management, lean/six sigma and supplier management or equivalent work experience
  • Specific Supplier Risk & Performance Management leadership / change management experience required
  • Experience in a similar function in a regulated financial services firm, preferred
  • Proficient in change management with progressive experience developing strategies and delivering results in a complex environment within a financial services environment
  • Skills in continuous improvement including experience coordinating, leading, and driving successful kaizen events to drive sustainable, continuous improvement
  • Ability to understand quality control concepts and develop creative and innovative ways to improve business processes with experience in developing robust quality systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (including listening, written and oral communication), work well in a team environment, able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standard
  • Ability to lead, influence collaborate and partner with ESC leaders and business partners to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
