Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, (CMMI), Business Services Group (BSG), Division of Information Technology and Operational Services (DITOS).

As a Financial Management Analyst, GS-0501-13, you will perform a variety of financial management duties. You will advise on matters of financial issues affecting national programs.

  • Project and analyze the potential effects of financial actions on program viability.
  • Research, compile, and analyze information and data for a wide variety of regular and special reports.
  • Develop new or revised fiscal management systems and related policies, goals and objectives for programs.
  • Analyze design options for structuring payment operations, including complex banking arrangements.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Conducting financial analysis relating to cost estimates, financial models, or financial trend identification. 2) Advising on fiscal policy or program adjustments. 3) Analyzing design options to make recommendations for payment operations, including banking arrangements, making payments, recoupments and recoveries of government funds according to strict financial controls.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
