Responsibilities

This position is located in the Multidisciplinary Arts Division, Office of Programs & Partnerships, National Endowment for the Arts. You will serve as the agency's nationally recognized leader and authority for the nonprofit arts fields of Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works and Artist Communities. Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works includes artistic works and events that present multiple disciplines, combine and/or integrate art forms, explore boundaries between art disciplines, fuse or transcend disciplines, and look to new forms of expression. Artist Communities provides assistance to artist communities for projects that encourage and nurture the development of individual artists and foster and inspire their creative processes. As Director, you will:

-Serve as the Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works and Artist Communities fields' expert to advise senior staff about trends that may influence programming and funding opportunities.

-Provide leadership and direction concerning agency programming and funding opportunities for the Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works and Artist Communities fields.

-Oversee the grant process from application, to grant, to final report.

-Manage a team of staff members who assist with all tasks including reviewing applications, assembling panels, monitoring grantee performance, and processing grants, cooperative agreements, and leadership initiatives.

-Represent the organization by attending and speaking at national and/or regional meetings and events of significance to the Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works and Artist Communities fields.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, with experience in performing ALL of the following duties: serving as a leader and authority in either the nonprofit arts field of Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works or Artist Communities; providing expert advice to senior staff about trends that may influence arts programming and funding opportunities; overseeing the arts grant process from application, to grant, to final report; managing the panel review process for arts applications and proposes funding amounts; and leading staff who assist with managing arts programs, including reviewing applications, assembling panels, monitoring grantee performance, and processing grants, cooperative agreements, and leadership initiatives.
