Federal government departments and agencies sponsor work for this position including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) within HHS. Work will be primarily conducted at LMI headquarters in Tysons, VA. Travel will vary, dependent on contract requirements. LMI is looking for a Health Policy Analyst who can assist in implementation, operationalizing and analyzing policies and programs that are currently within the healthcare environment - specifically within the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The successful applicant should be comfortable working with information systems, validation and verification of data by comparing and analyzing data from various sources, and reporting findings in a meaningful way. All work will be performed in a collaborative environment, and team skills is imperative. Responsibilities Implement process improvement through the analysis of policy, healthcare data, and their associated systemsLead a team of policy analysts, organize requirements, delegate work, and mentor junior employeesConduct reviews of healthcare data in accordance with federal guidelinesDevelop briefings/deliverables based on client requestsUpdate client documents including public instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), webinar materials, drafting answers to policy help desk questionsConduct outreach and document results relating to certificationAnalyze healthcare data using spreadsheets or other analytical toolsResearch guidance and regulations to help shape correspondence to applicantsPresent complex data in easy-to-understand presentations/communications NOTE: This position will NOT be involved in drafting or influencing policy decisions made by the government. Additionally, this position will not work on Global Health initiatives. Qualifications Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in health policy, health systems management, public policy, business management (with an analytic focus), or a related discipline5+ years of experienceAn understanding of the ACA and the specific mandates within the policy including the Exchange and the Medicare and Medicaid programsPrevious experience leading a small team and managing requirementsAbility to absorb large amounts of new technical and policy knowledge without a lot of guidanceAbility to advocate for technical platforms to augment analytical processes and deliverables, including input into IT business requirementsExpert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including as Word, Excel, and PowerPointSuperior communication skills, both written and oralDesired Skills and BackgroundPrevious experience with Access, Tableau, and/or SASExpert knowledge of Excel
