Controller - Nonprofit ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a leading Nonprofit organization and looking to hire a Controller. The company boasts a team-oriented culture and provides its employees with the tools and training necessary to perform. This is a contract to hire position. The client wants to start someone out on a contract basis to ensure they are a good fit before they bring them on permanently. Pay while contract is $38/hr and salary range if the position becomes permanent is 80-90k but commensurate based on experience. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER: Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems. Prepare reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations Oversee and manage all general ledger activity Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process Direct preparation of company budget Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions Arrange for audits of company's accounts Analyze financial data and present financial reports Oversee all project, program, and grants accounting Manage organizational cash flow forecasting Manage and track invested assets We are looking for a highly-organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller who combines exceptional leadership skills, with effectively prioritization abilities. You should be able to work independently and proactively in a high-demand work environment. You must have sound judgment and strong reasoning skills, as well as good analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively and objectively with a diverse group of people. Bachelor's in Accounting Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience with at least 5 years in an accounting management capacity Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures and US GAAP CPA certification preferred Public accounting experience, a plus Nonprofit accounting experience, a plus Proven ability to meet daily and monthly deliverables Proficiency with accounting software systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel Ability to work efficiently independently as well as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Please email resume for immediate consideration.
