The Company:Our client develops, owns, and operates communications wireless infrastructure facilities primarily for the wireless and broadcast industries. The company is a leader in its market.Specializing in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) within the US and in various locations around the globe, they are seeking a Staff Accountant to work in-house.The Position: Project / Staff AccountantJob Summary:Responsible for supporting the companys DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) deployment projects within the accounting and financial operations department. Each DAS project is unique in their respective operational and financial requirements; accordingly, this position is responsible for ensuring the timely and effective completion of multiple projects of varying scope, while also effectively coordinating with other company departments on the assigned projects. Main Responsibilities:Examine, review, and administer DAS contracts (including ground leases, customer contracts, and construction contracts) to ensure accounting is consistent with GAAP and administration and financial requirements are met timely and accurately.Assist in the preparation of various financial, internal and customer-facing reports, including cost projections, capital contribution reports, purchase orders, and revenue share/lease payment reports; project balance sheets; investment return analysis; and prepare all schedules for annual audits.Work closely with operational/field, engineer and legal personnel to coordinate collection and analysis of information relative to each DAS project; and summarizing the current state of each project for review by executive leadership.Interface and work with legal team to develop and detailed working understanding of the all elements of each DAS contract.Ensure that the DAS operations and project engineers are managing the profit & loss, job cost, cash flow, contract deliverables, and increase asset yield for all of their assigned projects.Candidate must possess ability to read and understand complex contracts and integrate same into operational accounting.Communicate directly with customers as appropriate acting as the escalation point for certain customer issues, such as billing and AR.Ensure that the project team keeps internal stakeholders informed of project progress, issues and projected completion dates. Develop a strong working relationship with each DAS team member. Understand revenue and cash flow implications.Initiate or / and participate in regular DAS project meetings to discuss and ensure issues/conflicts are resolved promptly.Review extracts and inputs into accounting for accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and payments.Review and approve POs and invoices for consistency and accuracy of accounting.Provide financial project status and ensure that system data are accurate, timely, and complete.Regularly produce project cash flow and profit analytics, work with treasury for cash flow forecast.Responsible for ensuring all costs and timeframes are recorded and are within the scope of the budget. Timely identification and reporting of any deviations therefrom are communicated and approved as soon as discovered.Manage handoff practices and to ensure capital and repair & maintenance expenditures are coded appropriately.Successfully oversee accounting processes and actively initiate and participate in process improvement..Requirements:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Management or Finance from a top college or universityMUST BE A US CITIZEN OR POSSESS A GREEN CARDExperience managing construction projectsExperience in project management including budgeting and variance analysis across multiple projectsPrevious experience in interacting with off-site operations and engineering teamsKnowledge of telecommunications/ distributed antenna systems/wireless project management, asset management, and network construction experience a plus.Have an in-depth understanding of financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issuesExperienced in accounting practices applied in the telecommunications, construction or similar industryStrong organizational and exceptional communication skills and a drive to innovate for better efficiency, accuracy, and financial insightsGenuine ability to translate unique deal terms and requirements to proper accounting and financial practices, learn new systems and to think criticallyProficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
