Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions Chantilly, VA office is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist with experience in consulting, managing, developing, designing and implementing environmental investigation and remediation programs for a variety of clients in the DC-Area and Mid-Atlantic Region. Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will lead the Environmental Services Group for the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area office of a leading international environmental and engineering firm. Position will have broad senior-level experience in various facets of environmental consulting including, environmental investigation, hydrologic analyses, remediation feasibility studies and cost estimates, remedial design, construction oversight, and operation and maintenance support. This position offers the opportunity to lead a diverse team of engineers, scientists and technicians to address complex environmental challenges executing the following roles/responsibilities:Key Responsibilities: Engage clients, evaluate needs and develop strategies to achieve client goalsPrepare project planning and reporting documents including investigation work plans, remedial action plans, permitting submittals, and remediation completion reportsProvide oversight of field programs executed by project-level staff including subcontractor oversight, field verification, QA/QC review and client communicationsAnalyze and interpret environmental data and prepare related reportsPerform oversight, mentorship and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level staff, including maintaining utilization Develop and review plans, specifications and special provisions for site design and remediation projectsEvaluate RFPs, develop and support proposal efforts for public and private clientsAssist with developing new work to support the teamLead preparation of technical reports and proposalsSuccessfully interact with Principal and other Senior-level employees in the office and company-wide to support coordinated business pursuitsManage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achievedTravel to project(s) as needed, for the execution of project goals Skills / Qualifications BS in Engineering, Environmental Science or related technical field; MS is a plusProfessional Engineering or Geologist license in Virginia, Maryland, and/or DC desirable8-12 years related environmental consulting or industry experienceCandidate should have experience with CERCLA, RCRA, and/or VA, MD and DC ProgramsExperience with Industrial Hygiene/HAZMAT and geotechnical engineering is a plus Must be a self-starter, team-oriented leader with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with, mentor, and direct engineers, scientists and techniciansAbility to effectively manage projects and programsExhibit ability to successfully track and meet budgets and schedulesMust pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Companys driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy Company Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
