Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldEngineering Technician IV - WireDuties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information: Applies learned technical knowledge to perform repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of electrical wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts.The Wiring Technician must have the technical knowledge to demonstrate a practical application of aircraft wiring procedures.The ability to perform soldering and knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform required functions.The knowledge to take on more complex wiring tasks, the ability to lead other technicians and to coordinate efforts to accomplish a task.The ability to communicate with the project engineer/designer on any issues pertaining to the task.Receive technical guidance, as required from a supervisor or engineer.Work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. May participate in planning for manufacturing, kitting, or repair items by determining facilities, equipment, material and number and type of personnel required.Technician shall provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. This classification's activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
