We are a specialist Site Work Contractor based in Manassas, VA and service clients all throughout the DC Metro area. With the growth of our operation, we are seeking to hire a Full Time Construction Yard Manager. The primary responsibilities of this role will consist of managing all inventory levels at the yard, organizing and sending runners to jobs throughout the day as needed when crews need additional equipment or materials, loading crews in the afternoon with the proper materials and equipment needed for the following days' work and filling out reports to confirm completion and any changes. This position requires workday flexibility and after hours support for employees working off-shifts. Compensation: . Competitive Salary . Yearly Bonus . Complete weekly inventory cycle-counts . Coordinating and scheduling equipment and material runners . Maintain yard housekeeping, organization and layout, including closing the yard gate in the evening . Storing and tracking specialty orders . Manage rental equipment returns . Daily meetings with Vice President to discuss yard operations . Complete scheduled Water Meter Readings and handle all reporting . Manage and perfect preload process/systems . Perfect arrangement of materials in truck for preload for operationally efficiency . Prepare and send out Preload Confirmation Checklist . Assist with re-selling old company equipment . Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts, injuries and general activity to Vice President . Promote a positive and transparent work environment Requirements: . Bilingual in Spanish/English required . 3-5 years of experience in an indoor or outdoor warehouse, shipping, or supply chain environment . High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Vocational or Associates Degree preferred) . Valid Driver's License with no restrictions . Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience . Strong ability to motivate and manage employees . Ability to hit weekly and monthly deadlines while managing daily tasks . Ability to think quickly and adapt to daily challenges . Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task with minimal supervision . Professional communication skills and ability to work with team members of all levels . Experience working in a high production, deadline base environment . Computer literate and basic skills with Microsoft Office Physical Requirements: . Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.). . Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen. . Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
