You MUST have or be able to obtain a SECRET CLEARANCE for this position. Aerotek Engineering is supporting a firm that that is developing, testing and fielding autonomous ships for the US Navy. The company is currently expanding its team in the areas of Software Engineering, Systems Engineering and Test & Evaluation. This crucial position will help drive autonomous systems capabilities to the next level. We seek a self-starting, team-oriented technology professional to enable the development of our autonomy software products to the robust standards required for mission critical systems. As a Software Test Automation Engineer, you will do the following:Analyze, review, and assess technical requirements and design specificationsSupport the development of server-based applications that interface to embedded systemsReview and contribute to test plans in support of system verification and validation (V&V)Identify test conditions and create test designs, cases, procedure specifications and test dataSupport integration of developmental software with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)/ government-furnished equipment (GFE) components, stimulators, M&S environments, and ATRT infrastructure within a prototyping labAutomate and execute software builds and tests Set up build and test environments in collaboration with IT/System AdministratorsImplement automated and regression tests at the unit, model, and system levelsExecute and log tests, evaluate the results and document problems foundMonitor testing and the test environment while gathering performance metricsReview test specifications, defect reports and test results throughout software testing life cycleEnsure software deliverables meet requirements and are free of bugs, errors and defectsField HM&E autonomy and automation applications and infrastructure iaw US Navy architecturesOperate in a mixed Windows and Linux-based environment employing DDS (Data Distribution Service) networking middlewareSupport the software team with best practices on an entrepreneurial, lean and agile projectRequired Candidate QualificationsActive US Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.BS or Advanced Degree in Software Engineering or related disciplineDemonstrated expertise in building and testing distributed computational or control systems deployed on Linux servers using DevOps (eg GitLab, Jenkins/Docker, etc.) and testing automation tools (eg Selenium, TestingWhiz, etc.)Demonstrated proficiency with Perl, Python and Bash scriptingDemonstrated experience in integrating complex hardware / software systemsDemonstrated knowledge of Software Safety and Reliability standards and practices (eg MISRA C, SAE JA1002, etc.)Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, products, and methods, as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.Demonstrated ability to perform as a team member within an Agile development environmentWillingness to travel in support of hardware integration and test Desired Candidate QualificationsExperience with high-speed data protocols as well as data buses such as Controller Area Network (CAN bus) and ModbusFamiliarity with Simulink/Speedgoat system integrationFamiliarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)Familiarity with CMMI ProcessesAbout Aerotek: We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
