Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, supervise and develop a staff of writers, editors, health policy professionals, communication specialists, and SharePoint developers responsible for researching, developing and presenting communication products to varied audiences;
- Perform all facets of staff supervision; setting and communicating clear expectations for the work and behavior of staff members, assign and review work; complete a full range of personnel actions;
- Act as consultant/advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff; recommend communications and policy strategies and identify communication, policy, and special project opportunities that respond to program needs, priorities and goals;
- Represent IHSC on high-visibility initiatives; develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization; build coalitions and effective communication avenues on issues relating to IHSC; and
- Write and edit authoritative, accurate written information tailored to specific audiences to promote a thorough understanding of highly complex, technical subjects within the agency.
