This position will serve as a project manager responsible for assisting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) execute its facilities and infrastructure construction, maintenance and repair program, which generally consists of the life cycle planning and execution of construction, maintenance and repair along the borders of the United States. The project manager shall have experience in project management including planning, acquisition, execution, controlling and closing of projects. A background in design and or construction management is highly desired. The candidate shall have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to deliver "innovative solutions" and possess the skill of "creative problem solving". Responsibilities Representative responsibilities: Supports the Lead Program Manager and leadership as the lead for assigned project(s) Serves as agency representative for assigned project(s), responsible for a successful execution of the Border Wall Program Responsible for successful project execution including management of scope, schedule, budget, risk and contractor performance Responsible for ensuring timely elevation of project issues through the Planning and Project Execution Team for resolution Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risks, issues, and opportunities for assigned project(s) Serves as the project expert and spokesperson for the project(s) with responsibility to present, explain, and defend program management issues and directions to higher-level official in CBP, DHS, and other government agencies and interested public groups Collaborates with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineering, Business Management, key stakeholders, and other offices throughout the project life cycles Coordinates all project related outreach efforts Qualifications Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active US Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Experience in one or more of the following areas: Construction management Infrastructure maintenance and or repair experience Civil/site design experience 10+ years of experience and a Master's degree in business, management, engineering, architecture, master planning, finance, or information management; or, 12+ years and a Bachelor's degree. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to effectively solve problems. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment. Experience in managing simultaneously, multiple projects with independent schedules and budgets Ability to travel 25% of time
