Job Responsibilities As a Cook you will prepare food in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations while ensuring that quality food service is provided at all times. You will also be responsible for performing administrative requirements, coordinating dietary service with other departments, and adhering to sanitary/safety regulations. Additional responsibilities: Cooking food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served Cleaning and inspecting galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation Apportioning and serving food to facility residents Compiling and maintaining records of food use and expenditures Taking inventory of supplies and equipment We are looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic cook who is eager to seek out new cooking methods/principles and incorporate them into existing dietary practices. In this role you will interact with a residents, family members, and other employees; you must have excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to remain professional in all circumstances. Additional requirements: 10th-grade education or higher 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility, preferred Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities Knowledge of dietary procedures Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel Ability to attend and participate in continuing educational programs Ability to work overtime including night or weekends as needed.
