Provide overall direction, guidance and support to department engineering resources and support staff Responsible for development and implementation of long-range skills development plan and onboarding of new associates. Develop and execute on key performance indicators. Develop recovery plans and actions to achieve key business metrics. Provide routine feedback to direct reports utilizing performance management techniques to improve the overall performance of the group. Coach, mentor and train department employees in support of company goals. Direct and manage all aspects of new program introduction from RFQ through First Article shipment. Interface with Sales team and Customer Service during quoting phases to provide accurate and timely quotations. Be the face of the company during New Product Introductions and drive design for manufacturability with the customer. Develop and track NPI metrics and establish continuous improvement goals. Interface with R&D team and customer on prototyping process where applicable. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university with Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent; and ten years related experience and/or training; Master's degree in Engineering or business is a plus. Must have 8+ years leading/managing engineering resources in a manufacturing environment. Should have knowledge of 2D or 3D design software such as AutoCad or Solidworks/Catia. High proficiency in PLM, ERP and CAD products is a must.
