St. Philip Neri School, located in Linthicum, Maryland is seeking a highly qualified middle school math teacher. He or She would be responsible for all lessons in mathematics, and other subjects as assigned. The teacher should be a team player who can differentiate instruction to meet the needs of our students. Job Responsibilities: Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines Provide grade appropriate instructional program Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students, with a particular emphasis on connections to STEM Establish reasonable standards for student achievement, updating electronic grade book frequently Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, school committees and in-service learning opportunities which may include Saturday Participate in active supervision of students at all times to include arrival/dismissal, car line, recess, Cafeteria, etc. Must have the necessary classroom management skills to supervise young children Integrate technology effectively into a 21 st Century classroom Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration Actively participate in on going embedded professional development and professional learning communities Qualifications: Degree in Mathematics Current MSDE certification Special Education background preferred Knowledge of STEM educational practices Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred Must be comfortable with technology to include Google Docs, Smartboards, Apps Must have a commitment to Catholic School Education
