Job Description The Systems Engineer (SE II) analyzes functional business requirements and design specifications for functional activities and provides identification/fixing for the problems within existing systems design/implementation of new systems. The SE II also enhances the existing systems and participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTS products. Must possess experience of system engineering in one or more areas including telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, database/DBMS and middleware. Participates in managing the Enterprise Architecture practice and in defining the Technical Architecture, including the identification and implementation of appropriate methodologies, standards, governance structures, processes and tools to further the Enterprise Architecture. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Support the creation, monitoring and evaluation of the outcomes associated with technology prototypes. Support the development, integration, configuration management, and publishing of Enterprise Architecture artifacts such as models, diagrams, documents, and databases. Support and assist with Enterprise Architecture related requirements and compliance issues, including, but not limited to, Segment Architecture Methodology, Enterprise Architecture self-assessment, program reviews, and ad-hoc requests. Works with engineers on systems integration efforts. Assist with alignment to the Technical Architecture across releases and provide SELC Gate Review Reports. Supports target architecture transition activities by documenting required tasks and interrelationships.
