A large client of our is looking for a Scrum Master. The Scrum Master will need to work effectively with technical leadership, stakeholders, product owners and teams to help ensure Agile concepts and practices are introduced and used effectively, when and where appropriate, to deliver on business objectives and desired outcomes. The ideal candidate is someone with diverse experience working in and amongst technical teams, combined with solid verbal, written, interpersonal communications and negotiation skills, who can easily articulate Agile and the Scrum Framework; the role of the Scrum Master; and an awareness of the intended benefits of, and conditions that help Scrum and Agile work. Ideal candidates will also be experienced with other agile methods and frameworks and practices, and be able to articulate the appropriateness of their use. Responsibilities The Scrum Master promotes and supports Scrum within 1 or more teams, by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules and values. The Scrum Master is the key advocate for the teams continuous pursuit of improvement, and utilizes skills and experience to bring known concepts, practices, and patterns to bear, as each teams context needs. The Scrum Master is the primary Servant Leader for the team, and 1st line of support in relentlessly ensuring and supporting the flow of work. The Scrum Master protects the teams flow of productivity and commitments from outside influences and impediments. The Scrum Master trains, consults, and coaches the team in the Agile mindset and practices, and influences and guides the team in pursuing a state of continuous improvement. As part of a scaled Agile environment, the Scrum Master proactively and routinely collaborates with other Scrum Masters in a team-of-teams organization to ensure complete transparency and flow of business value and outcomes. The Scrum Master is the primary Agilest responsible for the teams evolution into a predictable, consistent team that is capable of making and meeting commitments to stakeholders. The Scrum Master supports the Product Owner in building and refining a stable, known, prioritized team backlog, and coaches the PO and team in effective techniques for building a backlog that complements iterative, frequent delivery of value. Qualifications Ability to articulate the why behind various Agile practices and tools, and when they may/may not be suitable Hands-on experience as servant leaders with multiple agile teams, and some experience in a coaching role Hands-on experience, in a servant leadership role, within in a scaled Agile environment utilizing SAFe is preferred, but not required. Hands-on experience in servant leadership roles utilizing different frameworks, methods and tools Scrum, Kanban, SAFe etc. Ability to train, coach, consult the development team, the PO, the organization in Agile and Scrum concepts and practices. Demonstrated ability to introduce and implement practices to facilitate inter-team dependency management, requirements elicitation and planning with, agile and non-agile teams (if/when necessary) Demonstrated knowledge of and hands-on experience facilitating typical events/ceremonies associated with various methods/frameworks used. Ability to articulate approaches, practices, relevancy of various Agile metrics and assessments. Proven servant leadership experience in IT solution delivery. Solid understanding and experience with web technologies Knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle and the Project Management Lifecycle. Business savviness and emotional intelligence.
