Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Engineering Technician I Duties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information: This position supports Operations and Maintenance of the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) communications and data link systems as a member of the Test Communications Branch at ATR, Patuxent River, MD. Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices, including Voice Switch, UHF/VHF Radios, and Flight Termination Systems Tasking includes: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing, and testing a variety of test communications equipment. A minimum of two years' experience in performing the stated or similar functions is required. Basic electricity/electronics theory and repair/service experience preferred. Experience with RF communications, transmitters and receivers desired. Demonstrable experience with test equipment to include spectrum analyzer, multi-meter, oscilloscope, power meter. Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills preferred. Should be able to prepare or apply engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures as needed. * Must be a self-starter and be able to use initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision * Position may require frequent overtime and occasional travel * Must be flexible and team oriented Applicants must possess a valid driver's license. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance. Most work performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work is required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.
