Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldEngineering Technician IDuties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:This position supports Operations and Maintenance of the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) communications and data link systems as a member of the Test Communications Branch at ATR, Patuxent River, MD.Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices, including Voice Switch, UHF/VHF Radios, and Flight Termination SystemsTasking includes: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing, and testing a variety of test communications equipment.A minimum of two years' experience in performing the stated or similar functions is required.Basic electricity/electronics theory and repair/service experience preferred.Experience with RF communications, transmitters and receivers desired.Demonstrable experience with test equipment to include spectrum analyzer, multi-meter, oscilloscope, power meter.Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills preferred.Should be able to prepare or apply engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures as needed.* Must be a self-starter and be able to use initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision* Position may require frequent overtime and occasional travel* Must be flexible and team orientedApplicants must possess a valid driver's license.Note: This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of the job.
