Fast growing firm requires a Controller on a temporary basis. The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and assist in the leadership of the Finance and Accounting organization . The Controller will have the primary role of managing the day to day accounting operations and staff as well as manage the month end processes including generation of the budget to actual variance reports.Requirements Duties and Responsibilities Include: * Oversee all functions of the Finance & Accounting Department * Ensure that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and in accordance with US GAAP * Perform month-end duties to include preparation of the financial statements, including preparation of variance reports of monthly operating results against budget . * Serve as a primary resource with External Auditors including responsibility for managing the preparation of necessary documents, schedules and reports requested by the External Auditors * Serve as the point person with tax preparers to enable timely preparation and filing of all tax returns * Manage the preparation of financial forecasts and projections * Serve as project manager for the implementation of new accounting platformKnowledge and Skill Requirements * 8 - 10 years prior Controller experience * Bachelor's degree * CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam required or Master's degree strongly preferred * Experience with mergers and acquisitions * Experience with implementation of financial accounting software platforms * Experience with short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis * Experience with periodic cash flow projections and loan covenant compliance reporting as well as consolidations Retail experience strongly preferred in a multi- location, multi - company environment * Work requires excellent, professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
