Beyond Definition (formerly Bates Creative), is a Silver Spring based strategy and creative agency with a focus on mission-driven organizations, including associations, nonprofits, and foundations. We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to lead ongoing magazine production workflows and management with our clients and internal teams. This position coordinates on magazine production needs with the Account Management team as part of the overall health on existing and new accounts. Our ideal candidate is motivated to be part of a growing, fast-paced team and has experience managing magazine production.The Project Manager oversees our in-house designed magazines to ensure we meet customer expectations and specifications. On a daily basis, the Project Manager will be the main point of contact for our clients, and coordinate with the Project Management team on the production, scheduling, and utilization of our internal team resources.The reports to the EVP; works closely with the Project Management team requires employee to be onsite (Silver Spring, Maryland)Minimum three years of print magazine production and project management experiencePrint production and press-ready standards, PMS/color management, mailing and shipping logisticsMac studio using Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS OfficeWorking knowledge of font usage and managementProject Management Software: Basecamp; Box; DropBox; Workamajig a plusExcellent organization and communication skills with keen attention to detailAnalytical and problem-solving skillsWork independently with minimal guidanceAble to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and manage tight deadlinesLead and be the main point of contact for magazine production throughout project life cyclesManage internal magazine team resources (tasks and timing), daily trafficking, and forecastingCoordinate of logistics and estimates for outside magazine resources and vendorsMonitor, track, and report account/project budgets to Account Management team as neededOversight of image and photo touch-ups and manipulation as neededPre-flight, Quality Assurance, and proofing for incoming and outgoing filesResolve any workflow issues that arise during productionMaintain a working knowledge of all software, equipment, and work techniquesExperience with cross-channel content workflows, such XML tagging for InDesign, is a plusCompensationCompetitive starting salary based on experienceFlexible time and work from home options after 90 daysAccrued Personal Time Off (PTO) - 15 days for employees for first three yearsEight paid holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & day after, Christmas Day and Employee's Birthday)Company contributes 50% toward individual healthcare plan 1st of the month after 60 daysSimple IRA plan available after 1 year, with up to 3% company matchBeyond Definition is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
