We are looking for a Configuration Management Process Owner / IT Operations Senior Technical Specialist in Herndon, VA. Responsibilities The person that fills this position will be expected to perform the following: Provides technical expertise in the design and development of IT operation environments. Responsible for the management of the IT operations Incident and Problem Management functions, including associated staff. Plan, implement, and track initiatives to drive continuous service and process improvement for the configuration management service domains. Develop and leverage effective working relationships with service provider service delivery management to build and sustain effective service delivery teams and processes. Analyze changes of product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. Designs and establishes configuration management documentation. Authorizes the release of configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups. Develops and maintains configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support product development and use. May train engineers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of quality standards. May provide guidance to less experienced employees. Qualifications Required BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) 8+ years of experience using IT Service Management tools for continuous service improvement Must have active Secret Clearance Preferred Master of Science Degree with 6+ years of experience Exceptional problem-solving skills, and experience with cross functional managements Communicate across communities with exceptional written and oral communications skills Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
