A JustinBradley client is looking for an IP Video Engineer in the Washington, DC area. This candidate will oversee the day-to-day activities of Video IP connectivity, which will include management of service routing, and overall health of the network. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide strategic and technical oversight for the Video IP architecture for delivery to D2C platforms, connectivity, and Linear IP delivery platforms. * Serves as escalation point for all Video IP issues related to video transport at DTTC and is responsible for technology implementation and incident management. * Work to deliver a robust IP Distribution architecture and ensure Disaster Recovery planning is considered for all IP Distribution. Coordinate with the Network team, Compression teams, and TOC teams to deliver integrate all new services. * Work with the Compression Team to maximize the effectiveness of the IP Distribution Hub in the Co-Location room. Actively participate and collaborate to maximize its efficiency in delivering to our clients. * Oversee and communicate Service Level Agreements (SLA), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and support integration of full time WAN / IP Services into DTTC. * Work strategically to develop plans for IP delivery of the network's services in the future Direct via fiber or through Internet (Zixi, SRT, or other). Explore use cases where deployment makes sense. * Ensure compliance with and adherence to all policies and procedures including all internal Distribution and TOC procedures. Develop communications to educate compression personnel on the network architecture, signal flow, and escalation. * Promote fiscal responsibility. Actively manage operational expenses, and capital projects. Support the Director of Compression Engineering with developing Capital budgets and communicate needs during the annual budgeting process. * Evaluation of new products and solutions as it relates to distribution of video signals over IP and make recommendations to management team on implementation * Provide technical support and guidance for live event teams on video acquisition and contribution over LAN and WAN * Support Distribution Systems Engineering and Compression Engineering on an as needed basis with projects. * Willingness to come in during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded. A well-qualified candidate will possess the following: * 3+ years technical experience providing engineering and operational support in video distribution networks, telecommunications, data systems, or switching systems infrastructures. * In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, WAN/LAN principles, basic data base theory, IP Access, cloud connectivity architecture, firewalls, application support and architecture. * Strong working knowledge of Cisco and Juniper (Junos) operating systems and command line configuration syntax. * In-depth knowledge and understanding of IP video distribution signal flow and all its components. * Working knowledge of IP Distribution including RTMP, SRT, and Zixi. * Strong working knowledge of video encoding standards and its applicable uses. * Strong background in developing processes and procedures and an ability to refine them by applying critical thinking and objective analysis. * Ability to read/write system drawings and work with in-house team for project integration. * Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques. * Fosters teamwork and cross-functional cooperation to create a positive work environment. * Ability to prioritize tasks/activities, adapt to change, and refocus to recover quickly. * Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
