Responsibilities

As a Intelligence Operations Specialist you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Serving as a chemical subject-matter expert and technical authority with a focus on current/near-term events, plans, developments, and trends pertaining to the proliferation of WMD and chemical weapon events; issues influencing chemical weapons security; force protection; and force operability and survivability against a broad spectrum of nuclear, biological, chemical and other WMD events.
  • Initiating projects, and plans, organizing, directing, and/or conducting analysis of broadly defined and interrelated areas of intelligence and technical issues pertaining to WMD threats to U.S. and allied nations.
  • Recommending approaches needed to fulfill Agency/Center intelligence requirements. Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducts significant studies of a highly specialized nature, proposes options and alternatives, and representing the Agency/Center at interagency meetings and seminars.
  • Conducting advanced analytical research on foreign chemical weapons programs to fulfill requirements.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience required for this position is:
  • Planning, executing or analyzing WMD and counterproliferation activities in the United States Government, non-profit or academic organizations.
  • Performing All-source intelligence analysis for the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community or equivalent private sector.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
