Paragon Gene Therapy, in Baltimore, Catonsville, Gaithersburg & Harmans, Maryland, provides industry-leading GMP development and manufacturing services for cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals such as recombinant viral vectors, next generation vaccines & hard-to-express recombinant proteins and oncolytic viruses. The Sr. Director, Program Management (PM) Leader will lead strategic client programs in both Process Development and GMP Manufacturing programs. The Sr. Director, Program Management is responsible for managing the strategic client alliance and the specific statement of work and will use their organizational, collaboration, influencing and leadership skills to initiate, plan, execute and monitor client programs. The Sr. Director will lead small teams of PM's with program ownership responsibilities of their own as well as cross-functional program teams that include partnering with internal business and technical leadership together with subject matter experts to deliver program results in an efficient manner consistent with client expectations. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: People leadership including mentoring teams with various degrees of PM experience as well as internal cross functional program teams. Lead financial solutions and results when issues or expanded scope are identified considering both current and long term objectives and relationship. Collaborate with internal program teams to ensure program readiness at the earliest points in the business development process. Exhibit leadership capabilities when representing internal program team hurdles and results to external clients as well as client needs to internal SME's. Delivers on multiple assigned program objectives within agreed upon time, budget, scope, and quality. The ability to balance a variety of programs at a given time. Ensures sound program management practices within assigned programs. Demonstrated ability to recognize priority tasks and balance multiple changing priorities both for self and program teams with minimal supervision. Coordinates development and manages the overall program plan and schedule including tech transfer. Maintains open, collaborative and solution focused communication with clients and provides milestone updates with data and analysis. Consistently seeks and promotes innovative solutions or approaches to problem solving, from a technical and functional viewpoint in a highly flexible and interactive manner as scientific data reveals new information or requirements evolve or change. Works with VP, Program Management & Strategic Client Alliances to evolve current state PM practices to best in class program management competencies across the company. Education & Experience: BS in Science or Engineering required. Advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) is preferred 15 years experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company in a manufacturing, quality or development capacity with some or all of those years in a program management capacity with emphasis on external client interactions.
