We are looking for a talented Senior Red Hat Cloud Architect to manage our company's cloud architecture and position in cloud environments. You will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, particularly open source technologies, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud. You should have a positive attitude, work well in a fast-paced dynamic environment and have excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge. About ORock Technologies ORock Technologies is a small business Cloud and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider that supports the specialized needs of organizations with the highest data security requirements, including Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), solution providers, and enterprise end users in such markets as Defense, Intelligence, Government, Financial Services, and Healthcare. As a Red Hat Certified Cloud & Service Provider (CCSP), ORock owns and operates a carrier-grade private fiber optic network with multiple data centers and a secure, open source, "pure-play" Red Hat cloud. Our state-of-the-art IaaS and Cloud solutions offer superior levels of security, performance, compliance, flexibility, and control for ORock customers, channel partners, and software vendors. Currently we have a need for a Senior Red Hat Cloud Architect to work out of our Reston, VA HQ. You must be a US citizen and be able to successfully pass a background check. Primary job responsibilities Collaborate with ORock senior management on the design and technical implementation of the cloud and network infrastructure and associated implementation Act as a Subject Matter Expert to ORock's end-to-end architecture specific to Red Hat cloud products, including networking provisioning, and management with Cisco products, Palo Alto Firewall security, cloud storage, and cloud encryption Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software as well as collaborate on product design teams Act as the customer's advocate to architect the right solutions and ensure they are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way Deliver successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer's use cases and architecture design decisions Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments Design, create, and deliver content that enables the organization to sell, service, and support our cloud solutions at scale Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale ORock's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk Design and implement procedures for upgrades without service interruptions Support the operation and maintenance of the OpenStack environment, including all the complementary Red Hat products, as part of the ORock product offering Be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services Supports design, development, testing, and implementation of new cloud service offerings both from a technical, project management, and process documentationThe position requires strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals. Required skills 10+ years of architecture experience, with 4+ of those years specifically focused on enterprise virtualization or cloud Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability) Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or ability to achieve in an agreed upon timeframe Deep experience in secure Linux system administration and networking, esp. technologies underlying OpenStack, Kubernetes and Ceph In-depth to expert knowledge of various information security control frameworks, best practice standards, regulatory requirements, industry requirements for information security and IT related compliance requirements including SOC-2, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001 Record of working closely with customers in a consultative fashion to produce solutions that exceed their most challenging technical and business expectations Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms Proven ability to work with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers Employment Eligibility ORock Technologies requires the candidate to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
