Position: Construction Technology Sales Location / Territory: Virginia and DC Metro BuildingPoint Southeast, a leading distributor of Trimble Building Construction solutions is seeking an outside sales representative for Virginia to focus on selling technologies into the Building Construction industry. Job summary This position is responsible for selling technology solutions to the Construction Market in Virginia/DC area. Initially, these solutions will be the Trimble Field Layout portfolio of Robotic Total Stations and 3D Scanners and other associated technologies. Will also be required to prospect Building Construction softwares and other products and services within Trimble's Building portfolio. Summary of job duties Searching for and establishing new clients who could benefit from company products or services. Visiting Job sites on a daily, weekly basis looking for opportunities Maintaining a high volume of client calls, visits and emails, through use of CRM on a daily and weekly basis. Fully prospecting all commercial and residential construction projects and contractors within their sales territory Developing new and maintaining existing long-term relationships with customers Making technical presentations and demonstrations that persuade clients our product or service will best satisfy their needs in terms of return on investment, quality, price and delivery Develop and maintain relationships with key project managers at targeted general contractors Responsible for achieving the assigned geographic sales quotas in the assigned region Development of proposals and quotations Must have skills to develop, present and demonstrate a solution that meets customer needs and requirements and become resident technology expert on said products Develop and maintain the necessary pipeline to ensure sale success Responsible for appropriate qualification of potential customers Requirements: An optimistic, can't-lose attitude combined with a healthy dose of reality Mechanical and educational aptitude to maintain and improve understanding of the workflow application and products targeted at construction positioning, layout, scanning, mobile project management solutions for QA/QC etc. Strong knowledge of solution selling to targeted customer prospects and workflows for building construction (Self-Performing General contractors, construction managers, concrete contractors, structural steel contractors: BIM/VDC managers, Operations, project managers, supervisors, equipment managers, layout/survey crews etc.) Basic knowledge of BIM in the AEC industry, including 3D BIM software, project/scheduling, cost management, document collaboration etc. Basic technical competency to support sales process with construction positioning, layout, scanning, 3D BIM coordination, mobile Project Management, and other software platforms after initial training Basic CAD skills Skilled computer and MS Office use Qualifications 5 or more years similar work experience in sales or technical background related to building construction industry Bachelors degree preferred Time and territory management skills BuildingPoint SouthEast offers a comprehensive benefit program including: Medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance Medical and dependent care FSA 401(k) PTO Company vehicle, cell phone, PC, and other tools needed to do the job Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this position.
