Summary

About the Position:
The incumbent serves on the Force Deployment Team performing a broad range of deployment actions and analysis for contingency operations and providing sourcing coordination for the deployment program to provide personnel to support Combatant Commander's contingency missions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides liaison and interface between multiple offices involved with recruiting and deploying civilians to supported Contingency operations as a designated force provider.
  • Identifies and assesses operational risks, as well as develops mitigation recommendations to address current force supply and capability demands and potential future force requirements.
  • Performs a variety of administrative and analytical duties directly related to Agency resources and maintains situational awareness of reporting Action Requests, Mission Assignments, and Request for Forces.
  • Serves on a team evaluating all aspects of contingencies to include: force generation, manpower, transportation, and command and control systems.
  • Participates with joint forces and combined operations in support to execute assigned missions, exercises, contingencies and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience required: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-12. Specialized experience is defined as: experience analyzing the effectiveness of deployment programs in relation to mission objectives; providing briefings, information, policies and procedures for force deployment to leadership; analyzing deployment requirements to ensure contingency mission needs are met.

Education cannot be substituted for experience.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
