Dewberry's Geospatial and Technology Services creates geospatial solutions for real-world engineering, environmental, and community problems. Our developers design applications for mobile, web, and desktop for federal, state, local, and private clients. Do you enjoy working on an Agile full-stack development team that:

Responsibilities

Candidates will have strong competencies and demonstrated experience developing geospatial software applications for desktop, web, and mobile with an emphasis on business analytics, elevation data, imagery, and horizontal and vertical asset management. Working on the development team will be varied to include:
  • Work on consulting projects for federal, state, and local government agency clients.
  • Support large scale geospatial analytical modeling efforts to identify hazards, assess risk, and evaluate risk reduction methods.
  • Apply statistical, numerical and/or computer application techniques.
  • Develop web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Participate in testing, supporting and deploying tools and preparing technical documentation.


Required Skills & Required Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in the development of enterprise and cloud implementations of geospatial web and desktop applications. This work will involve application development in ArcObjects, C#, Leaflet/Angular as well as server-side web frameworks including Java/J2EE, and .Net. The candidate should have experience designing, developing, and maintaining database-driven geospatial end-user applications and interfaces for the desktop and web, including familiarity with all phases of system and software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, development, unit testing and deployment.

Necessary background and skills include:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, environmental science, or other geospatial or science related field, masters preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience developing geospatial related applications in ArcGIS using ArcObjects, VB, VB.Net, and/or C# (Esri or open source)
  • Experience with developing in multiple languages/ protocols (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, XML, Python, PHP, JSON, HTML5, etc.)
  • Experience related to environmental or geospatial engineering with proficiency in a range of important tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, ESRI ArcGIS technologies (including ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE Java Script and Flex API), MS SQL Server, Oracle, and PostGRES.
  • Experience using Agile, source control, and design tools is required.
  • Analytical and hardware/software troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task, work independently and as a team player, and communicate effectively with clients is required.
