Summary

This position is located in the Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to analyze/perform work necessary to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Leading task forces in advanced systems software/hardware project efforts.
  • Overseeing security testing and evaluation for information security issues.
  • Planning advanced security system projects to resolve critical problems in existing systems which require innovative solutions.
  • Serving as an expert in an information technology security specialty area.
  • Managing project plan tasks and deliver complete IT software development projects and or services.
  • Serving as point of contact and leads new IT program initiatives on new technologies.
  • Leading in the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Basic Requirement: You must meet the items listed below:
You must possess IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as defined:
* Attention to Detail - Being thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;
* Customer Service - Work with clients and customers to ensure systems and services meet security requirements and incorporate current technology;
* Oral Communication - Persuade others to cooperate in meeting security compliance objectives; and
* Problem Solving - Isolating and defining unprecedented security issues or conditions, resolving critical problems in enterprise-wide systems, or developing new approaches and techniques for use by others?

AND

Specialized Experience:GS-2210-13: You must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service OR equivalent public or private sector experience performing the following duties:
  • Advising management on new IT developments and advanced techniques;
  • Planning IT studies to develop short-range forecasts and recommendations;
  • Testing or modifying systems for solving IT problems.
Specialized Experience:GS-2210-14: You possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service OR equivalent public or private sector experience performing the following duties:
  • Advising top management on new IT developments and advanced techniques;
  • Planning IT studies to develop long-range forecasts and recommendations;
  • Developing systems for solving IT problems?

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
