Responsibilities

As the Coding Clerk in this position, you will:
  • Review and code disclosure documents in preparation for data entry indexing in accordance with division and Commission procedures, and the requirements of the Federal Election Campaign Act and Commission regulations.
  • Identify and code pertinent itemized financial data contained in the disclosure documents utilizing the various Data Inquiry programs, indices, and numerous data entry transaction codes.
  • Review the database to ensure accuracy in coding and entry.
  • Research Commission indices through comparison and analysis of the disclosure documents and keyed data, identify irregularities in reporting and errors in coding or entry

  • You must be able to pass a background investigation.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

I have one full year of specialized experience performing office and program support duties. This must include activities such as: (1) ensuring accuracy in coding and entry; (2) resolving and identifying irregularities in reporting and coding. (3) performing basic arithmetic computations and/or generating cross-reference documents; (4) reviewing and coding disclosure documents in preparation for data entry indexing in accordance with agency procedures; This experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 level in the Federal service (obtained either in private or public sectors).

In addition, you must provide a cover letter describing your experience with the competencies identified below:

Administrative Support - Provides general office support; updates and codes documents records.

Technology Application-Uses computers and computer applications to analyze and communicate information in the appropriate format; e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and utilize various data inquiry programs, indices, and numerous data entry transactions codes.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Oral Communication - Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
