Full Time
  1. Works to link newly released individuals with housing, vocational and educational opportunities and community services; models useful skills and effective problem­ solving strategies; and responds in a timely manner to prevent relapses and other crises.
  2. Shares experiences and provides coaching about employment/training and obtaining
  3. Supports reentering person's engagement in mental health and substance abuse treatment services in the community including compliance with psychiatric medications and attending 12-Step and other support
  4. Provides information on the rights and responsibilities of discharged offenders and on satisfying criminal justice system requirements and conditions (e.g., probation, parole, ).
  5. Helps individual negotiate and minimize criminal sanctions as they make progress and meet criminal justice
  6. Provides practical support by accompanying newly released individual to initial probation meetings, treatment appointments, and/or referrals to potential employers and property owners.
  7. Assists clinical staff members of the Offender Reentry Program in learning how to more effectively engage consumers with criminal justice
  8. Refers clients to community resources and implements community outreach
  9. Partners with other agencies, churches, parks and recreational facilities, and retail establishments with approval of Supervisor and Program
  10. Conducts outreach activities with agencies, churches, parks and recreation facilities, retail and other

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree with major course work in social service, sociology, psychology, or other fields; plus one (1) year of responsible work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Knowledge of available resources and applicable regulations to deliver social, health, or assistance services
  3. Ability to determine eligibility for assistance
  4. Ability to interview clients and compile information for client records
  5. Ability to prepare written reports
  6. Ability to maintain accurate electronic retrievable records
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and members of public and private agencies
  8. Ability to drive a passenger type vehicle
