Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group is searching for a dedicated underwriter with current knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements to join a prominent mortgage lending company's team. You will be responsible for pre-closing and Adverse Action file review, ensuring the quality of loads being issued, and supporting team execution and process improvement while being provided with all the necessary tools to keep up to date with current industry standards.   • Analyze loans before closing to ensure compliance and report discrepancies
  • Review rejected applications to ensure quality and compliance
  • Run credit improvement scenarios alongside Loan Consultants
  • Aid production team members in the origination process
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and practices, including underwriting, processing, and compliance issues
  • Share industry knowledge through training, presentations and process improvement suggestions

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree required, business majors/degrees preferred
  • 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
  • Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator or ability to become licensed
  • In depth understanding of mortgage regulations
  • Knowledge of FHA and VA guidelines is preferred
  • Familiarity with Encompass loan origination system preferred
