ALTA is supporting a client with a temp-to-hire opportunity in Suitland, MD for a Systems Engineer. Resources must have an active public trust and due to the program hold citizenship. The Systems Engineer position is an advanced technical position responsible for the proper and efficient programming, debugging, integration, implementation, configuration and maintenance of software systems and will be responsible for creating, implementing and administering hardware and networking solutions for existing and new platforms based on user needs and expectations. Duties and Responsibilities * Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure * Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools * Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability * Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes * Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies * Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks * Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution * Design, develop, and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems. VMWare, AWS/Azure, Local Area Networking are all BIG PLUS Bachelors Degree is needed
