Summary

Office of Business Transformation is the Principal Staff Assistant and advisor to the Under Secretary of the Army as the Chief Management Officer for all business operations activities and programs in the Department of the Army. Responsibilities include establishing policies on, and supervising, all business operations regarding business transformation, business planning and processes, performance management, and business information technology management and improvement activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement analytical insights for headquarters-level organizational processes, systems and structures in support of the Army?s strategic direction.
• Provide expert data analytics services supporting Headquarters Department of the Army programs and operations.
• Establish performance assessments and goals related to the development of an enterprise-level data analytics capability for senior leaders to demonstrate improvements and identify shortfalls.
• Appraise large data sets to find opportunities for operations and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
• Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, readiness generation, and other business outcomes.
• Exercise independent judgment concerning the interpretation of Congressional and DoD policy and develops, plans, designs, and executes data analytics policies, projects and programs for the Army.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is a TERM position Not to Exceed 3 years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

Basic Requirement for Computer Scientist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
